Re-do

I made the mistake of looking at my blog from my iPhone and managed to accidentally delete my first post, which I will try to redo but probably not with as much oomph!

Interestingly, this morning's view (5 a.m.) is noticeably more subdued having spent a night tossing and turning thinking about our country's economic future (and ours and our families').  My financial planner sent out his quarterly economic overview and after reading it I was pretty depressed!

We have had a very busy Summer with the entire month of July spent negotiating the purchase of a house on Silver Lake.  The offering part wasn't that difficult but the financing part was due to the fact that the house sits on common property owned by all of the members of the Silver Lake Association (SLA) and no commercial bank would back us until finally because of this unique situation.  Finally, we found a local bank that would.

August has been spent getting ready to move which involved weeding through stuff and getting rid of what I don't want/need.  This includes 30+ years of Christmas stuff which when all was said and done, I MAY have gotten rid of about 15%.  Sorry Dan!  I have had a list by which I have methodically moved through the house by weekend, packing and sorting.  It has been pretty leisurely overall.  It is hard to gauge how much stuff I really have since my daughter and her baby have been living with me since last December. Her stuff takes up about a third of the garage and is dispersed throughout the house.  She will remain in the house until the Spring when we are ready to tackle getting the house ready to put on the market to sell.  It helps her out a bit and it helps me out a lot - plus keeps the house occupied.

My son has a nice pile of S--- in the garage, too!  So, if I only "look" at what is mine, it really isn't that bad.  I will move once with a moving company and then will have to do a small move to wrap things up.  I hate moving.  I have moved myself and my daughter more times then I would like to count!!
